Every Gift Helps A Child Play, and Continue The Journey Toward Lifelong Well-Being

JOIN THE PLAY EQUITY MOVEMENT

At the Play Equity Fund, our aim is to ensure kids and their families are healthy and safe in the wake of the ongoing COVID-19 restrictions.

Thanks to your generous support, we were able to make that goal a reality throughout much of 2020, but the effort continues.

Together with our partners – the LA84 Foundation, the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD), the Los Angeles Archdiocese, Nike, Dick’s Sporting Goods, WSS, Kole Imports and – YOU – we were able to supply the neediest families and communities in LAUSD and Los Angeles area Catholic schools with free balls, jump ropes, and gear to use to help kids #StayActiveStayStrong in their homes.

The good news does not stop there. Thanks to the momentum of our #StayActiveStayStrong initiative, we are moving to a new phase of our COVID-19 response focused on continuing to support the social, emotional, and mental health of young people during this ongoing pandemic.

STAY ACTIVE STAY CONNECTED

With remote learning here to stay, accessing quiet working spaces and opportunities to move, play, and connect with coaches, mentors, and others is a real need for kids and families.

As a result, we have launched Stay Active Stay Connected, to continue to help kids navigate and thrive in this ongoing time of isolation and uncertainty. Stay Active Stay Connected will focus mainly on students with limited access to some of the most important resources required for distance learning.

These include a reliable, quite space to learn by providing noise-cancelling headsets for classes, meetings and online coaching, and Fitbit Smartwatches to stay motivated to move after a long day of virtual learning.

Your donation moves the needle for these students in Los Angeles who are navigating this new reality. Schools and sports programs are embracing technology in new ways.

The Stay Active Stay Connected program will help students keep pace with these changes. Our goal is to help level the playing field for these future generations – and make the Play Equity Movement a way of life.
