Providing equal access to organized sports and play is a social justice issue, and the Play Equity Fund is committed to supporting programs and actions that ensure all kids have opportunities to participate. The Play Equity gap exists for many kids whose families can’t support the added expense of youth sports. The Play Equity Fund aims to strengthen communities, one child at a time.

Your generous contribution will enable us to bring the transformational power of sport and play to all children. Sports can hold a special place in kids’ lives and is proven to have many positive influences on young people in helping them achieve their potential.
The generosity of institutional and individual donations to the Play Equity Fund recently allowed for thousands of kids and families across Los Angeles in underserved communities to play at home during the pandemic by putting 60,000 balls, jump ropes and other sports equipment directly in their hands. TRIBUTE GIFTS
Make A Donation In Honor of Someone Special
If you want to honor a special person who supports childhood activity for all kids or values sports programs, honor that special person, important moment in life or the memory of a loved one by making a Tribute Gift to the Play Equity Fund.
Tribute Gifts are most commonly used for:
- Expressing gratitude
- Recognizing a special occasion
- In honor or in memory of someone special
The person named for a Tribute Gift or the family of the person named for a Memory Gift will receive a card from the Play Equity Fund in appreciation for the special donation.
A Tribute Gift provides you with the opportunity to say “thank you” to those who provided support when you needed it most – such as a family member, friend, coach, teammate, instructor, or anyone you care about. Memory Gifts can express sympathy and keep the memory of a loved one alive.
MATCHING GIFTS
Each year thousands of employees have the opportunity to contribute a portion of their paycheck to the charity of their choice through workplace giving campaigns. Many employers will match charitable donations of their employees.
Often, it’s an easy way to double your contribution to the Play Equity Fund. If your company participates, obtain a matching gift form from your HR department and complete the employee portion. If your company processes matching gifts electronically, follow their instructions.

A donation of stock is a powerful and easy method to support and advance the efforts of the Play Equity Fund and potentially receive significant tax advantages. When you transfer ownership of stock, you receive a charitable tax deduction for its full market value and incur no capital gains tax (subject to IRS deduction limits) on shares held for at least one year.
